beehives
Since a few weeks I am located at a new spot. It houses over 20 small creative companies in a large collaborative space and is part of the Amsterdam policy to attract creative industry (broedplaatsen beleid). Those companies are under the umbrella of beehives. A foundation which aims to stimulate social cohesion in the direct neighborhood via entrepreneurship.
Each company is offered a relatively cheap place to start it’s business, a network, plus the occasional for-profit project. In return it is expected to invest a minimum of 2 hours per week in social non-profit projects. I think this interesting and reasonable and am curious what collaborations will emerge from this.
